# Mark Rochefort > Co-founder and Product Director (Tech & Ops) at Measurelab. A technology and data geek with a web development background and a more than passing interest in psychology, computer science and the odd arty thing. Psychology and Computer Science (AI) from the University of Bristol. Building things on the web since 1998. ## About Mark Rochefort co-founded Measurelab in 2013. Started in digital analytics on the Google stack, working with brands like Google, Salesforce, Lush, EDF, Springer Nature, and Pret. Over twelve years the business filled up with specialists — tracking, tagging, data analysis, data products, cloud infrastructure — and Mark's role evolved with it. He went from being the most technical person in the room to learning how to run a business: finance, operations, HR, tax. It's all data. His title is Product Director (Tech & Ops) because the job is all of it — finance, operations, technology, and the product itself. That product is evolving: from analytics services into making people unreasonably effective with data, through governed platforms and AI agents. Everything he learned about how businesses actually run is what makes that possible. You can't automate what you don't understand. In 2023, Measurelab started building Brian, an all-company conversational AI agent. They learned a lot — about what works, what hallucinates, and what governance you need before trusting an agent with real data. Now they're facilitating that for everyone: giving people their own agents, their own platforms, their own ability to get things done with data they can trust. In January 2026, Mark took that personally. He gave an AI agent real freedom — not as a product, but as a way of becoming unreasonably effective himself. It stuck around. Mark believes the future of expertise isn't individual. It's collaborative. Not human or AI. Something in between that neither could do alone. The best use cases are unlocked at the small team or individual level — the balance between top-down governance and the freedom for people to figure things out from within. Before Measurelab, Mark was Head of Technology at Harvest Digital (2005–2012), which grew to become the UK's largest independent digital marketing agency. Earlier career includes interactive TV development at Victoria Real / Endemol, where the original Big Brother web and interactive TV sites won a BAFTA (Interactive category). He has been building on the web since 1998, starting at 422 South in Bristol. Mark holds a BSc in Psychology and an MSc in Computer Science (specialising in AI), both from the University of Bristol. He is a Fellow of the RSA and serves on the Computing & Maths Industry Advisory Board at the University of Brighton. Mark lives in Lewes, Sussex - which also happens to be home to a few breweries - with his wife and family. When he's not at work he's likely to be found in the nearby hills of the South Downs, or at the seaside. ## Current projects - [MarkOS](https://markos.playlab.net): Mark's AI agent — runs his mornings, processes meetings, holds his thinking, and maintains its own website. - [SEAM](https://measurelab.ai/seam/): Governed intelligence for AI agents, by Measurelab. - [Swarm](https://swarm.org.uk): Data people building with agents.
